Our approach

Map the system.
Read the conditions.
Change how the work gets done.

Strategy points to where you’re going. Culture determines whether people can get there together.

The gap that creates friction

The organization changes.
The habits hang on.

A new strategy. Rapid growth. AI or new technology. A merger. New leadership. More pressure.

How people work together often changes more slowly. Roles get fuzzy. Decisions drag. Trust thins out. People stop saying what they really think. Old habits survive long after they stop working.

That gap creates friction.
Ascentric works in that gap.

The larger the gap between the complexity of the conditions and the capability of the human system, the more friction the organization experiences.

Changing conditions Change gathers pace ↗
  1. Growth
  2. New technology
  3. New strategy
  4. Leadership transition
  5. Greater interdependence & consequence
Friction
How people work together Practices evolve more slowly ↗

  • Leadership practices
When conditions change faster than how people work together, the gap creates friction.

Culture Cartography™ helps us understand the system inside the gap.

Class IV™ helps us understand the conditions around it.

Two connected lenses

The system inside.
The conditions around it.

01 / Understand the organization

Culture Cartography™

A customized organizational diagnostic. It combines the right ways of seeing the organization for the question at hand, rather than relying on one survey or one assessment.

Depending on scope, we draw from interviews, observation, surveys, organizational materials and data, team diagnostics, and selected validated assessments such as EQ-i 2.0.

02 / Read the conditions

Class IV™

A lens for leading when the stakes rise. Borrowing from river classifications, Class I–V describes conditions from familiar and relatively stable to highly uncertain, interdependent, and consequential.

It isn’t a maturity score. Class IV isn’t better than Class II. The conditions can become more difficult without the organization becoming more capable.

  1. 01

    Map

Find the pattern beneath the problem.

Discovery helps distinguish the visible symptom from the dynamics underneath it. Interviews, observation, data, organizational materials, and selected assessments give us several ways to see the pattern. We listen to what people say, what repeatedly happens, and what people avoid saying.

  2. 02

    Align

    Choose what has to change.

Get specific about what must change and what needs to stop. Clarify roles and decision ownership. Reset expectations. Agree what leadership will model, which behaviors the organization will reinforce, and what it is no longer willing to tolerate.

  3. 03

    Practice

Make the new way of working real.

Translate choices into meetings, decision rights, conversations, feedback, accountability, and rituals. Coaching, hiring, onboarding, leadership behavior, and operating rhythms help the new way of working take hold.

Culture is created by what people repeatedly do together.

The work is practical

A useful map.
A different conversation.
A decision that holds.

Insight matters when it changes what people do together.

We choose the methods, working format, and pace for the question. A focused session, diagnostic, sprint, or longer partnership gives that work a shape.

Where is the friction showing up?
